How To Start A Business

How To Start A Business

Have you ever wanted to start a business but been stuck on what to do, where to start and how to take step 1? I got you. Ive started a lot of businesses and advised a whole lot more how to grow. It starts with you and the idea, the rest is easy.

Want to start a business this weekend?

Let’s do this and get you from idea to reality with this article on building a business in a short amount of time. Im a serial business builder this is my weekend startup process for going from idea to reality.

Before we do this are you ready to commit to this? are you ready to start a business and put your thoughts to the world wide web? I sure as heck am right here with you. Lets do it.

The key is the idea, only you can come up with this. Have a think and as you read this think about your surroundings, what you like and dislike, and think also a little left field out of your normal comfort zone.

Here are 6 ways to go about finding this idea👇

Method 1 Search Facebook Groups

Ive trawled group after group looking for inspriation for products. This is a goldmine. People are busy, people voice their opinions, people share frustrations and you can even reach out to these people to ask questions.

You can also look for group members who are looking for help with things that they can not do. This is a huge field and a good example is freelancing social media because people are busy and don’t have the time to manage their social media.

Ive also started my own Facebook groups on topics Im curious about calling them things like “learn at home gym gang” and “learn fruits of the garden” as group names. This is a great way to get extra ideas and build a warm group of people to either help test products or provide feedback and buy your stuff.

It’s that simple

Method 2 Review top Amazon bestsellers

Ive always been an ecommerce guy from way back. Selling things online has been one of the best teachers for me. I love to trawl through Amazons Best Sellers and Movers and Shakers lists looking for new product ideas.

This works for you if you are for example a fitness person and 8 of the top 20 trending products are gym equipment. You could easily take 2 of these products and start a real niche business selling just the 2 items.

From here you can find the top sellers, their rough sales volume and market sentiment by review counts and comments. Do a bit of Google searching to see whats happening in your local area and if theres a saturation or gap in the market.

Ecommerce business options:

1 Build an Ecommerce brand

2 Start a Dropshipping store

3 Start a Print on Demand Business

I loved this business so much I moved to China and Indonesia for an extended period to understand more about manufacturing and logistics. To further my Amazon FBA business and ecommerce stores.

Ecom Exploration trip China

I met a handful of cool people all selling different things from all over the world that really opened up my eyes to whats possible. As Im doing for you here now.

People in my groups were selling:

  • Nail polish
  • Makeup
  • Pool Floats, toys
  • Gym gear
  • Pet toys
  • Yoga accessories
  • Gardening equipment
  • Pregnancy clothing
  • Jewellery
  • Supplements
  • and much more

There is no narrow lane for what you can sell online. At the markets in Yiwu China there were football fields on football fields in size of stores selling products of all sizes, shapes and colours. My imagination was limited because asa the tour guide kept telling me “anything is possible”.

Method 3 Searching Different Subreddits

Before learning about marketing, sales and ecommerce I only used Reddit to have heated conversations, and find tips for video games. But I’ll tell you the nuggets are hidden in sub reddits and in open conversations among Reddittors. Its the most underestimated place for product ideas ever.

There is a couple ways to use Reddit.

1 Look for sub Reddits on your niche topic and pick them apart for ideas

2 Go to the DIY (do it yourself) sub Reddit and look for ideas there.

The DIY method might be easier because everyones already showing you how to DIY. You will also find people who don’t have time to DIY and want to hire people to do it for them.

Im the type of person who most of the time would rather pay someone to build me something then spend my weekend physically building something. Im not alone, there are millions of others just like this.

Scroll and look for these comments:

“I WANT THIS.” and “CAN YOU MAKE THIS FOR ME.” and also “I WISH I COULD BUY THIS.”

Thats about as easy to identity an opportunity as it gets. Take that as your motivation to start a business that solves that problem.

Method 4 What Annoys You That You Can Fix

This one appeals massively to me. The immediate problem I thought of when doing this the first time was my polo shirts are sometimes in summer (an Aussie summer 40+ degrees) I get a little sweaty under the armpits, so I decided to get all the polo shirts I needed for my work copied into Bamboo polo shirts. No more sweaty pits and a real nice feeling when wearing the polo shirts.

This methods is best for solving problems that you have with existing things. Think of Uber vs Taxis. Taxis used to be the only option in the transport field and the cab drivers were in my experience, stinky, cocky, loud, messy and often missed the destination.

So Uber was created to make transport on demand easier and its so much nicer.

You have to think about what the annoying things are in your week and what it is that could be improved, what it is thats broken and how could it be improved.

What is the most annoying or inefficient thing you do every day?

If you have that problem, others probably do too. This is worth looking at as a business idea.

Method 5 What Stuff Do You Like Doing

For me, I love my home gym. During COVID I really went after the home gym market creating several DIY home gym setups for dip stations, door racks, stretch stations and different X Bar competitors (bar that you stand on and use resistance bands for tension). That makes me feel amazing.

So what do you really like doing that you think you could do as a business? the sky is the limit and best of all there is no wrong answer.

Combining stuff you love doing could be your next idea.

Method 6 Ask Your Friends

My mates are going to hate me for saying this one, but ask your friends. I’m always asking them for feedback on new businesses and stores that I launch. They may be a bit over it but to be honest some of them work for me and some have since purchased businesses I asked them to help build with me.

All it took was a text or call to a friend to ask them what they thought about an idea.
I then

  • Would you buy this product? Yes or no
  • Would you subscribe if this was a subscription based product? Yes or no
  • Would you be open to the next product (if you know what that might be)? Yes or no
  • Would you be interested to start this with me? Yes or no (no hard feelings either way)

Thats the immediate feedback loop that you need from people who are not just yes men or trying to sell you something.

You can even try asking them “if I was going to start a business today, and you know me what would you see me doing?” I got some really interesting ideas from doing this. Some paid off some were a waste of time.

Their answers may surprise you. But you’ll learn a lot about your skills and strengths. Opportunity is everywhere, but sometimes not where you could see it alone.

Extra Sauce: Help A Mate Opportunity

This never worked out for me but has worked for some friends that I was helping them pivot after COVID ruined their industry.

You have to ask 5-7 friends who have money and are open minded, what has been on their to do list for more than 2 weeks. This can be stuff like organisation, scheduling, viewing houses, finding clothing and other things.

It’s a really cool way to look at opportunity and has provided a lot of unique new jobs. People are busy and if your friend has money but not time then you need money and have time. Perfect match.

Pitch your friend the idea of you doing that thing on their to do list and them paying you. It might lead to your first customer.

There’s your first customer.

Ok, so now you have some ideas and you should have a short list of things that you think you can do.

Next you need to do a little research:

• Go and find the number of people in the market
• Go find how much each customer is worth at your price points
• Go calculate the $ of the whole market
• Go validate the idea

How we make this idea a reality.

1) Focus on what works and cut the loser

Ive wasted a lot of time, energy & money on people and ideas that didnt work out.

How you can avoid my mistakes:

  • Give yourself a time limit for success
  • Give yourself a budget you can not exceed
  • Give yourself a sales target to reach before moving on

This gives you actual numbers that signal if you are wasting time or you are onto something that has potential. Id recommend a small advertising budget to help you in the start up phase like $500 just to help kick start the momentum.

As you notice potential you can use more ad channels and increase ad budgets but this at least gives you a chance. You only want to focus on winners, you want to be a winner.

iron mike tyson aggressive tactics

2) Do more of what works

If my ideas work and my growth tactics work then I will rinse and repeat those tactics all day long. If they cost me ad spend Im happy to pay to play, but I’ll be looking at ways to refine the process and lower my outgoing expenses.

Recommended reading: Mechanics of a Dropship store

I will try new ideas and new methods but if things work you need to know how to systemise them for repeatable use. This helps your new idea scale.

What I like doing is making new user/customer acquisition as simplified as possible. Then sell them on the backend with emails and upgrade bundles. Works a charm.

3) Be Like a Dog with a Bone

If you believe in your idea, go all in. Burn the boats so to speak and be hustling that business all day every day. Start ups work when founders go next level. Every-time I build a dropshipping store its a dog fight but it gets easier.

You will hit patches of uncertainty but just keep going. Live your dream.

It doesn’t matter if you have a growing number of competitors just outsmart them. Do what works, watch their moves and zig when they all zag. Take it serious but use your unique selling position to get in front of the customers. No one brings more passion than a founder.

Things don’t happen overnight.

4) Surround yourself with smart operators

As the founder the one with the idea you have a large battery for your business. You will grind 14 hour days and not break a sweat. Not everyone will give you that energy. Hiring a bunch of 9-4pm workers is not the best way but its essential at some point.

Whats helped me overcome the odds is by aligning with operators and those other weirdos out there that love to hustle. They love to problem solve and fix broken things. They love a good system and seeing momentum in growth charts.

I look for the person not the role when hiring for my startups. I fully believe this and I also look at the hustle each person brings to the table. If They could give me a go then Im interested in hiring them. I want to work with positive energy.

Hire smart, fire fast and encourage people to be their best self. As the leader people around you will feed off your energy, you make them great by being present and driving the ship.

I still take part in the hiring and firing of people in my businesses and I think its part why we are so successful.

I hope this helps you find that idea, reach for it and go all in. Build that business that you have always wanted and make a dream a reality.

That’s a wrap!

The Ultimate Buying Guide for [Niche] Products

The Ultimate Buying Guide for [Niche] Products

When it comes to purchasing niche products, navigating the unique features and specifications can be a daunting task. Whether you’re a seasoned enthusiast or a newcomer to the niche, this ultimate buying guide aims to provide you with the insights and knowledge you need to make informed purchasing decisions. From understanding the key factors to consider to tips for finding the best deals, this guide has you covered.

Introduction to Niche Products

  • Defining Niche Products
  • Why Choose Niche Products

I always try to define the use case of the product that I’m about to review. This helps the user connect to their own problems and information seeking for solving their problems. If Im saying that the VPN I am reviewing helped me get passed geo content restrictions and the reader has that same issue then we have common ground.

The niche of the product needs to be relevant for the reader. If you have regular readers then you should stay within your niche or at least very close using shoulder niches. I couldn’t on this blog start reviewing Gym gear or supplements because it makes zero sense to connect my readers to that niche. Your product niche must be relevant to your blog topic.

Understanding Your Needs

  • Identifying Your Requirements
  • Assessing Compatibility

What are the criteria markers for evaluating this product? how have you chosen them and what weight does each one have against the final score? these are all questions you need to frame. Failing to set the scene results in the scoring not having enough weight to hook the reader.

You should call out any specifics of the product so the reader can assess their eligibility (do they have the minimum requirements) this gives the readers who may convert even more confidence in your review, it now says to them you have the right requirements if you purchase this product.

What do I mean by this?

  • If software what devices can it work on, what operating systems are compatible
  • If car parts what models and makes is the accessory compatible with

Researching Niche Products

  • Exploring Available Options
  • Reading Expert and User Reviews

Before you settle in on the actual product to review, assess what else is out there and pick a shortlist that you can review later, or use in a comparison review article. One good strategy is having 5 products that you review and then creating a master review article that compares each one for a best of article a little like this best web hosting review article.

Before I start my review articles I like to see what other people are saying by reading a handful of reviews. I also like to see what actual product reviews there are from people who purchase the product. This is key in getting pros and cons of the product. People are weird and this is a great note to never forget, everyone is different with different use cases and expectations.

This is a gold mine for you when creating review content and if you do not own the product it can help you get real insights from real owners.

Comparing Features and Specifications

  • Highlighting Essential Features
  • Weighing Pros and Cons

Always call out the best features early on in your product review.

Tell people how you assess the pros and cons, why the pros work for you and why somethings a huge con. This helps set the weighting and reason.

Setting Your Budget

  • Determining a Realistic Budget
  • Considering Long-Term Value

As I go about product selection for a review I will narrow down a list and assess my own interest case. If I use the product, want to use it or have heard about it from friends or colleges Ill purchase the product and spend a week or two with it testing and pushing the limits so I know whats what. My budget for the product is anywhere from $20-$199 on average unless its something more expensive like a Playstation 5 for my tech niche site.

Note: In the day of AI that we live in right now Ive come across a lot of reviews that are incorrect, out dated since September 2021 (ChatGPTs cut off date) and don’t make sense. This is lazy marketing and poor user effort. Don’t be that guy/girl

I don’t have an endless budget for all my hobbies and to go testing every product that I have on my wish list. It would nice too but I don’t have that on standby. I like products that fill an immediate need, are personalised to me or at least come in my size and I like products that will last a year at least. Im about the long term value is the purchase is higher than $100.00.

Physical products that you get from these sellers do not typically last more than a year:

  • AliExpress / AliBaBa
  • Wish
  • Kogan

Finding Reliable Sellers

  • Checking Reputable Retailers
  • Examining Seller Ratings and Feedback

I consider my reviews my word, I don’t want people getting scammed or having a poor experience on something Im telling them is amazing. Thats poor behaviour on my part, I work with reputable retailers. For the most part I have contacts at the places I recommend, its part of network building and getting better deals is reaching out and being an extension of their marketing team. Check that your retailers you recommend are reliable and not scammers, read their reviews, do some background checks.

The seller reviews on marketplaces, networks and in Google can help you very quickly see that the product you want to sell is shit hot or just shit in general. Examine those reviews like you are Sherlock Holmes, no stone unturned. It takes time but it could save you a lot of headache by avoiding poor quality products or retailers.

  1. Utilizing User Feedback and Recommendations
    • Tapping into Online Communities
    • Learning from Others’ Experiences
  2. Ensuring Quality and Authenticity
    • Identifying Counterfeit Products
    • Verifying Certifications and Labels
  3. Considering After-Sales Support
    • Exploring Warranty and Return Policies
    • Evaluating Customer Service
  4. Making the Purchase
    • Finalizing Your Decision
    • Securing Payment and Personal Information
  5. Tips for Getting the Best Deals
    • Watching for Sales and Discounts
    • Bundling Options for Savings

    • Proper Care and Maintenance

Remember, thorough research, understanding your personal needs, and considering long-term value are all essential steps to ensure that you find the perfect niche product that aligns with your preferences and expectations.

Rethinking the Effectiveness of Affiliate Product Reviews: Challenging Assumptions

The way that affiliate marketers create product review content has changed significantly with changes with Googles policy, Artificial Intelligence and competition between other affiliates.

To set the scene, a product review or product comparison article is where you compare a product against other products highlighting its features against the others, or you do a in depth review of a single product. You create this on your niche blog and then promote the post across your network.

Here are some examples.

What I used to do:

I would find products that had a high commission, great images and reviews and I had some knowledge about and promote that through a product comparison article between 3 or more other products.

How Ive changed my strategy:

Over the last couple of years the strategy has become more personal and focused on products that I use and want to promote. Im not rolling out a high volume of products and reviews, the strategy keeps a tight focus on a handful pf products per niche blog. I make personable content in text, video and with custom images for the reviews. I may also speak to someone at the company about the product as an extra add on for my review. Its a little more manual but this helps the reviews standout.

2. Q: What is the bandwagon effect in the context of affiliate product reviews?

The Way We Consume Content Is Changing

Late 2022 and early 2023 we all experienced this change in the way we consumed content and created it. The wave of artificial intelligence (A.I) took the world by storm. Thanks to ChatGPT 3 and Chat GPT 4 we have this new second brain thats smarter than us and has the history of the internet in its database ready to share in 4 seconds.

The way I read articles is changing, I skim over the article and then if its longer than a 2 minute read I can now ask my AI assistant to summarise and pull out the key takeaways for me. But we should be planning for this in our content now so we still have a chance to capture clicks and eyeballs.

is your website broken

How do we as affiliates compete with this shift in content consumption?

We need to innovate or get skipped over by the big money players in the category. Its a fast paced world right now with huge advancement in tech, making many of our old jobs open to disruption. I used to dropship a lot now Im paying people to do it on my behalf while I focus on content and strategy for those brands.

Ive tried staying ahead of the curve and changing the toolkits I use and the process I have to incorporate the new ways of making content and distribution of it.

How do we as affiliate still get paid when the clicks drop off?

This solution is a little more techy and nerdy SEO related. We need to markup our content if text based in some schema so that bots, crawlers and AI agents can read and understand everything we have on the website and what we reference and link to so that it shows in the output of their command panels.

Other Content Strategies

Create 1 pager roundups

The best way to retain attention is to use 1 pagers. It can be anything a roundup, a overview of a person or industry, company or product. Canva is your friend for this, create visually attractive info 1 pagers.

You could also email gate this so people had to submit their email to get the PDF version of the 1 pager. This is a really good way to grow your email list and get more downloads.

Add your links to the PDF, watermark it and reference your brand/website where possible.

Create Key Summary Snippets

One immediate way to keep in the game is to think ahead and callout the key insights of your articles so that skimmers and bots can pull your key insights into their view points. If you link to your affiliate products within these key takeaways that link can get pulled in and still become a conversion option for you.

It’s not perfect and may not be the best way to do it, but its better than having no link all together.

I like the TLDR approach for skim readers to get the Too Long Dont Read summary so that your content still gets a look.

You could also present these key insights in new ways like quotes, blocks and infograph cards.

Take Your Content Multi Format

With all the toolkits that we have right now it shouldnt be ruled out to make your content more than just text based content.

Here are some ideas for making your content do more:

  • Video format short form “shorts”
  • Video format long form
  • Audio snippets
  • Infographs
  • Slide presentations
  • Memes and Gifs

Like this meme below, everyone loves a creative meme. Theres ways to get your brand, website or message in that meme as it goes viral.

Build a Community

You might think this is irrelevant but Id argue its key in keeping a contained pool of readers in your sphere of control. Think about places that you could so this.

My recent involvement in community building content has seen great traction using places like Discord, Skool, Facebook groups, Pinterest boards. You will need a content strategy to keep the audience engaged and coming back.

To be successful in affiliate marketing, you need to create or buy a strong mailing list. To build that list, what you need to do is encourage your visitors to send your their referrals to your website. What better way do you know how to do that than right through your own membership site. You can then market your affiliate offers through mailing list ads which is a method that has been proven to be effective.

This is getting harder though as there are hundreds of thousands of gurus out there flogging various trainings and “authority advice”. You need a way to stand out and get cut through the noise.

The number one killer for new affiliates and online marketers giving up is the work required to get started making the first $$$. This is because it takes work to get started and it doesn’t happen in a day. Thats the cold hard truth.

If you are looking to make some quick cash then you’re probably looking at this with the wrong lens. You will need at least a month of prep and ground work to build something that people will:

A) Trust enough to buy from

B) Search engines, social media algorithms give your business pages enough love to be seen online

C) For you to set up your sales machine to get paid and track your referrals

These are facts of life when working online. You are dependent on being seen and having people read and click your content. You can see below how web traffic is categorised by where it came from, this is the juice that affiliate networks want to know that you have.

The key things you need to build a home based business are

1 Your business stack

  • A computer
  • Internet connection
  • Lead forms
  • Email automation software
  • A website or web page

2 Your Niche

  • Home decor
  • Gardening
  • Fat Loss
  • VPNs and more
  • A list of competitors
  • The keyword targeting for this niche

3 Your products

  • The things that you will be promoting either digital or physical products
  • You must know the commission rates per sale
  • You can research what paid advertising cost per click rates are for your niche catagory
  • Identify the best places to promote these products like Twitter, Facebook, Websites or by Ads

4 Web Traffic

  • Where you will be getting web traffic from
  • You need eyeballs on your content and web pages to make sales
  • Tailoring content to specific audiences and channels
  • Have a plan for growing the website traffic like SEO, advertising or influencer deals

Thats the 4 core pillars for building a home based business.

I can rattle off another 18 tactics for making it a big deal that could grow into your full time business where you hire helpers and you have a business run from your home that does more than $100k a year. This article is more about the setup and for those getting started, let’s not get way ahead of ourselves. 🙂

You can get started with a laptop, a computer connection and an idea. But to really make money online you need a plan and Ive sent hundreds of beginners over to the Affiliate Bootcamp and watched a handful go on to make it full time as affiliate marketers.

As you start making sales the process should become more about refinement of your product offering and the conversion elements. We don’t get any commissions if the readers just read our content, we have to be making them click through to see the sales page of the products.

We will do this by:

  • We focus on the product offers, pricing and placement to get the readers hooked.
  • We focus on the conversion elements to make a reader become a customer.

Ok, so we know the focus areas and what is required but lets look at some ways that we can start making money online and how to do it. Below are 4 methods of making online money that have been proven successful over many years. Your job today is to select just 1 method and give it your best shot at making an online business from the method.

Method 1 Email Profits

To us as affiliates peoples email addresses are highly valuable. Once we get that email we can pitch products and offers to that email list over and over again. The key is it only costs us our time to create it, and the email software that we use to make the sends.

*You could skimp on software and do it all manually but aint nobody got time for dat!

You start by creating a lead capture form asking for their name and email in order to get something like a PDF, template, Google sheet or something that helps them. Thats the value exchange where we help them with something and they don’t mind giving us the email address because we may help them again.

What I use to do this across my portfolio of niche sites:

  • MailPoet – WordPress email automation newsletter software
  • SendFox – Lightweight quick and easy email automation software
  • GroovePages – Full funnels designer pages, emails, conversion tracking and newsletter functions
  • ClickFunnels – Landing pages, email newsletters and ecommerce products, a real sales software

You should organise your forms and email lists by the name and place that you are collecting the leads from. For example My footer email capture is called “CB_Footer_newsletter_signup” and the email list is called “CB_Newsletter_footer”.

the next thing I need to do is create the email campaigns that I’ll send in a sequence. These can be automated to send when ever you want and to who ever you want on your list.

Other Items that you should know:

  • Create yourself a content calendar to schedule into your emails
  • You will need to know what to promote when and with what content in advance (see above)
  • Create tracking for the emails using Google Analytics or built in software tracking
email sequence

Email campaigns can be very lucrative. You can earn bank just from sending an email blast. If you have 4,000+ subscribers you can start to get paid every time you email out offers. *This depends entirely on your product, the offer, the pitch and your audience on the list.

With these all put together, it spells out a profitable serious income. What is better than all this, you can keep adding to the pool and make it grow without time bound or costly investments. Plus you can keep all this money on the internet and repeat it many times over in one hour a day!

Method 2 Print on Demand (POD)

One of my personal hobbies is buying retro tee shirts, I love the old memories these cool shirts bring me and my daughter like Saturday cartoons tee shirts. Thats me to a tee (no puns) but if you want to sell me on your tee shirts my niche is “retro” “vintage” “cartoons” “male” “XXXL” all the keywords and tags you would add to me if I joined your store.

But If you are staring a clothing business you cant just start making tee shirts today, unless your use a print on demand partner like highly rated Printify, Printiful and others.

These partners handle the actual product manufacturing for you all you have to do is

  • Create the design
  • Make the sales and
  • Create the brand.

The POD Way To Succeed!

print-on-demand-store

POD is a way of creating money ON demand. You make money from the initial purchase of the product (vendor), then on up each and every month as you continue to sell the shirts, hats, bags, pants and more. You could actually be making lots of money with print of demand every year. Especially if you watch the current trends and create clothing around them.

The 6 Step Framework to get started:

Step 1 create a store

Step 2 join a POD partner like Printify, Printiful

Step 3 Create the designs that you want (If doesn’t just need to be tee shirts) see Canva Design Studio.

Step 4 List the designs on your store. I use Placeit to create realistic fashion models of my shirts

Step 5 Start generating traffic to your product pages using ads, content or emails

Step 6 Offer the customer a bundle and repeat purchase options

Thats the chunk of it that in 6 steps. You can get real granular and flesh out these steps so that theres even more opportunity per step. I kept it short and sweet here for you as an overview of the way it works.

*Advanced tactic. You can have two stores. 1 store is focused on selling cool designs to the public in a B2C way. The 2nd way is B2B where you sell company clothing, office supplies, sports teams uniforms for profit using the POD partner to fulfil the orders. This is a genius move and well worth you looking at it as an option.

You can once you start making sales, invest in some conversion optimisation to help increase your sales and retention. Paying attention to this could take you from $4,000 a month in sales to $12,000 a month in sales (as an example). Further reading on conversions for ecommerce stores, and how to create sales pages.

Method 3 Reselling Products

I love a good resell opportunity, My wife is the master reselling goods that she has bought low and will resell high. In my early ecommerce and dropshipping days I joined this Salehoo network for an immediate network of available products that I could resell or dropship. This follows the golden principle below;

The golden rule is to buy low and sell high, What we call profit arbitrage.

There are a bunch of websites that allow you to resell their products and software for a higher fee. All it takes is a Google search or a Chat GPT prompt to find the tried and tested networks that allow this.

My other enjoyment is reselling other peoples training, it is a heck of a lot easier than making your own. Ill even go as far as showing you how. Here is my resell or promotion of some existing training course http://bit.ly/2bootcamps its called the Affiliate Bootcamp where you learn A to Z of what you can do to be a well armed affiliate. Its that simple.

Some of these have subscriptions attached to the sale so you could be making monthly sales thanks to the hard work of others. The dream 🙂 and another step towards making passive income.

Build niche website lifestyle businesses

Option 3.1 Reselling Consumables

Theres a couple extra things to reselling products. I like the skincare niche because the products are 80% consumable and require the buyers to replenish every 3-6 weeks. This for us as affiliates is or ecommerce store owners is customer gold.

Consumables that you can resell using a mix of ecommerce store and Facebook Marketplace tactics

  • Skin care products
  • Health powders, pills, vitamins
  • Drinks
  • Local produce (requires more manual management)
  • Buy other peoples products low and resell at 30% markup on Facebook Marketplace

You can be competitive on prices and create a web store that sells 24/7. A lot of resellers are not tech savvy and depend on physical labour of collecting and delivering goods. In todays market you can get pick up services cheap and delivery services. You now are able to compete with traditional reseller businesses right from the comfort of your home.

*I might be oversharing here but I look around my local supermarket at brands that I see and take note of the manufacturer brand. I then review that brand to see what they sell, where they deliver and how much wholesale prices they sell for. This tells me the supermarkets markup price and then identify if I can successfully resell the product.

Method 4 Affiliate Marketing

The resale income resell rights gives you. The most common is called the license of your own merchandise, in other words you have the rights to sell the products as well as you can resell it in all the ways you can desire.

My first action item here is to do some research, look around the niche you are thinking about focusing on and see whats already out there. A couple of Google searches, some Facebook and Instagram hashtag searches and you should have a handful of products and competitors that you can start inspecting.

I learn a lot from looking at the market. I like to see what competitors are doing, what they sell and how they present products.I suggest that you start making a Google sheet of competitors and some notes about what you like and what you dont like about them.

Finding the best products and offers is key in your affiliate money making journey. I like to review the networks like CJ, JVZoo, Share A Sale, Max Commissions and more. Each has its own pros and cons, so look around and bookmark products that you like. Always take note of the reviews and work out how many sales per product the vendors make, this gives you some idea on what sale are like by time stamping the reviews.

Next up is web traffic and growth opportunities. As an affiliate marketer you need to understand your audience and who is and who could be your customer. This graphic explains the buckets of where you audience is sitting, learn this.
