How To Do Affiliate Marketing for Software and SaaS Products

Ive been an affiliate for a lot of different products but the number 1 best type of affiliate product to recommend and promote by far has been software products and especially those with a monthly subscription built in. I wasted a lot of time just selling software that had a one time fee making that commission and then poof the customer was gone. The realisation came to me when I checked my bank account and saw the number of monthly subscriptions I was paying. An insane amount of monthly payments being made by me and I wasn’t even using half of the softwares.

Then my entire focus shifted to getting in front of those softwares that had monthly subscriptions built into their offering. It just made sense. Also I am a huge geek for software, tools and any automation I can get my hands on I am the perfect audience for any SaaS business or fellow affiliate marketer promoting software.

Key Takeaway: I needed to cover my basis each and every month so I could pursue what ever my heart desired. This was the basics and I do live well under my means already but to please my other half I keep a healthy buffer between every bill instalment, debt, payment, want need and desire haha.

I needed to cover the following

  • Mortgage payments
  • House insurance
  • Food bills
  • Electricity
  • Fuel for our cars
  • Pet food and insurance
  • Other bills

Now I had my baseline number of what I had to aim for I could start promoting with a goal insight. Lets for this example say I needed to cover $2,800.00 a month. This was achievable for this type of affiliate promotion especially since it was a monthly commission payout. I just had to harness the power of compounding. This is where you stack up the offer pages and continue to build out while the first round of sales offers and web pages get their initial traction. The money come sin and then it keeps coming in while new people are added as customers, this increases my commissions by way of compounding the monthly sales commissions.

This is absolute genius!

At least thats what I think. By focusing on my target number I can also be very strategic with my choice of affiliate offers that I select. I typically look for 30%+ commissions for this exercise, but thats not overly common in the affiliate SaaS model. There are several SaaS affiliate offers that I use that have 40% commissions per signup paid monthly and they work really well as those companies are very aggressive in their growth strategies.

Get paid by recommending software that has a monthly subscription

Affiliate marketing for software and SaaS products. What is Affiliate Marketing? Affiliate marketing is selling someone else’s products for a commission on a monthly fee. In essence, you are an online broker. Get ready to broker some serious deals. There are many online businesses that utilize affiliate marketing, the most notable of them are Amazon, eBay, ClickBank, and BestBuy. It is estimated that in 2006 affiliates earned over $6 billion in commissions and bonuses.

What is an Affiliate? An affiliate is a non-ational, non-business website owner who makes money by referring customers to the products and services of another company. The affiliate is compensated when the customer takes some form of action, such as making a purchase, registering for a newsletter, or filling out a form.

The affiliate does not incur any marketing expense unless and until the action is completed. You can promote as hard or as passive as you want no one is bossing you to push hard. You can also do a bootstrap approach saving where you can or once you know the numbers scale that b##ch to the moon with paid advertising.

Disclaimer: While you can literally work from anywhere when doing affiliate marketing I would never ever take my primary money making device I absolutely required to do my job TO A BEACH!! This photo was used just to show the work from anywhere in the world emphasis and in no way shape or form do I work from a beach when promoting affiliate offers. LOLS.

Becoming an affiliate.

It is a good idea to choose a niche or specialty to which you will send your traffic. By focusing your energies on fewer products you are more adept to understand and become an authority in the marketplace. In addition, when you focus on a specific niche you are able to relate better to your clients, develop a relationship, and market to them more effectively.

Customer targeting

Target your traffic to people who are interested in the product or service you are promoting. Everyone likes to get something for free. Free tools can include reports, software, ebooks, or free services. As an affiliate, you can do free marketing by writing reviews of the products or services you are promoting. To attract visitors to your affiliate re-direct page, you can create a free e-book or report that is related to your re-direct page subject and name your report with a title and URL to your re-direct page.

URL redirect

You can also use URL redirect to get buyers to your affiliate re-direct page. Create a redirect page on your site, and then you can link the old page to the new one. But make sure to tell your affiliates the new URL to their re-direct page.

Multiple sections

You can create sub-affiliates for your product, that will direct buyers to your affiliate’s sales pages. A sub-affiliate is someone who signs up to your affiliate program and receives a personalised link. When a customer clicks on the link, he/she is brought to the affiliate page instead of your sales page. You have to create an affiliate section on your website, and then create a second affiliate section.

how affiliate links work

Note that there is a problem in Plus and minus program. If one affiliate buys product from merchant X and decides to direct buyer to another affiliate who buys product from merchant Y, you will lose X% of the price from that affiliate, because you will be paid only if the buyer decides to keep buying. In addition, you lose percentage off of that associate resulting in less profit.

You can use PPC marketing to get around this. PPC stands for Pay Per Click. Instead of selling a product this way, you would select keywords for your ad campaign. Your ad would only appear when someone searches for keywords you select. Instead of losing profit each time someone clicks your ad, you will profit only when someone buys the product. This is much better than selling a product this way.

However, PPC is a harsh lesson all in one. You need to pay for every click. This means some clicks might pay, but you have to pay a large bid to get your ad on the front page. Because the clicks are so expensive, this is often not possible for most affiliates.

This is at least part of the problem. Another problem is continuing to build your site for more visitors hoping to buy everything you promote. It is not efficient. You need to build a site that attracts constant traffic. You should also select merchandise that pays high commission rates.

Today, there are a number of software alternatives available to help you in building your site in affiliate marketing. Some are free and others charge monthly fees. The reason for this is that some software do not perform as well on the cheaper price products. As an affiliate for SaaS products you should embrace this as it means you get paid monthly when someone stays with that software. You just need a handful of people to take action and before you know it you have a affiliate promotion making you $2,000 a month. This is a beautiful business model.

So, software like the Automizy, SendFox, ClickFunnels, GroovePages and GoHighLevel can give you some of the mission critical features that you will need for affiliate marketing to the SaaS community. The key is never the tool that you use, really you could use anything. But it sure helps if you have a reliable tool AND a clever appealing message to your target audience.

At this point, you need to analyse and evaluate all the data about your web site. Remember to put your product and your website on the same page for the best results. Take time to review where the best traffic comes from, who the buyers are and what the best offers are you may start to see patterns and insights that allow you to scale and build another $2,000 a month from doubling down on one SaaS affiliate offer.

I hope that you learned something from this article. I love affiliate marketing and the ability to dial in on patterns and trends. If you have any questions about this model of affiliate marketing shoot me a email. Thank you for reading.

How Do You Become An Affiliate Marketer?

How Do You Become An Affiliate Marketer?

How Do You Become An Affiliate Marketer?

Really its quite easy you build up a website that you intend to use for the hub of the promotion and then apply to the affiliate networks that you wish to join. There will be some requirements on your side for each network byt that depends on your selection.

I would highly suggest having everything in order before joining a network. This means your bank that you intend to use for payments, your tax documents and business names and any LLC PTY type business setup documentation. I also suggest having at the very least a 5 page website setup with something about you your business or the niche that you are targeting.

This all helps the networks make a choice thats going to help them sell more. Be their best choice when applying. Do not half ass your application. This type of job can change your life and if you want to half ass around and not put in your best then you may struggle before the race begins.

amazon affiliates dissappointed at commission reduction

What qualifies you to be an Amazon affiliate?

You will need to be approved within the Amazon affiliate program called Amazon associates. They have some basic terms and conditions and you really should pay attention to the do’s and dont’s as Amazon is one of the most anal about the terms of service for the program and sadly they hold all the cards if you step out of line just once expect them to come down on you hard.

🔗 Does Amazon associates pay you for click to purchase?

Yes they do as long as the affiliate link was displayed within their terms of service for the associates program.

If your click to purchase referral is all good under the TOS then yes you get that sweet commission for the referral. The idea is to provide as much hype about the thing you promote that the reader clicks over and purchases the product.

Amazon does a really good job at converting visitors to customers. So as long as you can attract a large amount of visitors you will naturally start to make some clikc to purchases. You should work on creating solid page copy to really sell and hype up the product.

🔗 Can You Post Amazon Affiliate Links On Facebook?

No you can not. Facebook has started blocking most affiliate links and parameters.

You are best off creating what is called a bridge page or a squeeze page that collects the email address, provides a little overview and then sends people to the affiliate link.

🔗 Can you buy through your own Amazon afiliate link?

No you can not. You can buy through family members or friends links if you want to help them out.

Amazon is super strict with the whole terms of service thing they really crack down on it.

🔗 How many affiliate programs should you join?

I would suggest a handful like 10 or so and in my opinion avoid Amazon or dont make Amazon your main source of affiliate revenue. They are too unprpedictable and have in the past made wild changes to the associates program and cut the payouts down again and again.

Build an empire with affiliate marketing

How do I start affiliate marketing as a beginner?

🌐 What is the best affiliate network for a beginner?

The best networks for beginners are the bigger ones. They wont be as strict with minimum requirements as the smaller more niched out networks.

My picks are beginners

  • CJ (Commission Junction)
  • Share A Sale
  • eBay affiliates
  • Amazon Associates (its easy to join)

These are the better networks to start on and then look at moving to more niche networks when you have some runs on the board. If you know someone who will vouch for you that is already making decent sales for a network the affiliate manager may be a little more relaxed on your application if you have any buddies who are in teh business.

I started out and had not very many people in my circle but the guy who got me into affiliate marketing is Jeff Lenney a very successful power affiliate.

🚧 How do I start affiliate marketing without a website?

If you do not have a website and plan to build one you will need to be clear about that in your applications to the networks.

You may be ok if you have a following on a social media platform like YouTube or Instagram Tik Tok etc. This will depend on each networks terms of service for websites verse social media.

But I highly recommend getting yourself a website. You need to capture the email addresses to send the backend promotions and its one of the ways that you can rank web pages for free and get even more commissions.

Get the A to Z of building an affiliate website right here.

💵 How do I get paid from affiliate links?

The process involves you have a unique ID tracking link of the product that you are promoting. This is your uinique ID that identifies all of your referral traffic.

Here is an example affiliate link:

Here is anexample of a masked affiliate link:

As people click through your affiliate link they get tagged with an identifer that tells the network or merchant that you sent that visitor. The analytics then assist the network and merchant if that visitor you sent actually purchases.

Then your unique ID is tagged as making a successful referral and you are then assigned the commission for the sale. Most networks and merchants do not release the fund right then and there and they often have a holding cycle of 7 days, 14 days, 30 days or a money threshold like pay me when I make $100 in commissions.

Affiliate marketeing is not to complicated but for newbies it just means getting familiar with the technology involved. You can always fast track that and subscribe to my newsletter and ping me for help and guidance when you get stuck. I love business, creating wealth and helping people make their first online buck.

Thanks for reading and I hope you take action and make something happen. Peace!

How To Make Money Blogging

How To Make Money Blogging

We are going to be using our blog as A marketing tactic to grow our list and audience size. This allows us to create a following and platform for which we can then promote offers and services to said audience.

Most online businesses work like this

1 Visitor ready to buy

2 Visitor reads your blog clicks your link buys thing

3 Completes purchase

4 Not much else happens

5 The customer fades away into the background

This Business Model is broken

-Cannot survive without more leads

-Is doomed leads stop coming in

-Cannot maximize leads

-Leads are “private” and short term

-Your leads are super limited, rarely maximized nor ever maximized, and they do not stick around

-Not good for your blogging businesses growth

The key step missing in the above business is the email capture. You need that email so you can remarket to the audience over and over again.

Just like what Im going to do right here.

Fun fact the above method works. There is no hidden games or agenda I told you what I was doing and then did it. No usual smoke and mirrors that you dont fully know what you just signed up for.

If you follow these steps you will see a shift to a positive cash generating email list. Thats one way that we make money blogging.

Trust, faith, and interaction

Grow in engagement

Start to see the trajectory of success.

Just engaged audience who helps you make sweet online money.

There are some added bonus to building a blog business:

  • I like blogging, but I do it for the edge it gives me
  • When you get enough readers (easy to do in a years time) your brand fans do your selling for you
  • Business is ALWAYS growing

The more audience and email list you have the easier this online thing becomes. Its strength in numbers and letting the compound effect take action.

  • The easier it is to get massive attention and use that attention to build trust
  • Smart Passive Income, Search Engine Journal, Marketing Profs, Book deals etc
  • You will never get random sites to just send people to a sales page, its super easy to get them to go to a blog post though
Develop a business plan click bucks

Blogs Play The Long Game

They take time to build and get the momentum that you need to be successful online. Plus Google needs time to position your blog in the right category in its index. This all takes time but if you dont add content or dont improve your site as you go the momentum does not build.

At the start it will be a little slow. Once you get that first bit of momentum you will be able to build on that with more ease. Google starts giving you a few free passes and ranks your site for keywords that people actually search for. This provides an audience, the audience fuels the email list and the email list is your money maker.

Blogging as a business is a great revenue generator:

  • EVERYONE buys, they are just rarely have the desire too. Blogs capture them and give them the desire too
  • Buyers need something special to hit PEAK zero resistance buying state
  • Blogs make your business attractive beyond what your selling, and then create interest in what your selling
  • They just plain work if done right

Build A Business Looking at 1-3 Years Ahead

One of the mistakes I see with students here is that the mindset is to build my blog for what I need today right now. This is wrong and Ill tell you why, I want you to think of your business in 1 to 3 years time and what that looks like for you.

The reality is you wont see much momentum for 6 months unless you haul ass and work relentlessly. This business should be a lifestyle business and not a working 16 hours on my blog type business.

Why I look at the 1-3 year plan:

  • Planting the base of what will be a huge SEO success
  • This is not blogging coaching (aka utter bullshit), it is coaching on how to leverage as many tools as possible for epic SEO success
  • Start from simple practices

This also paves the way for my niche selection and blog category.

  • Making SEO Services? Aim to make a blog for SEO’s, goal is high traffic and mass relevance
  • Aiming to sell to a certain niche? Make a blog with free training and information in that niche, goal is less traffic, but higher relevance
  • My 2 cents, make a hybrid so you can market to both kinds of people
Build an empire with affiliate marketing

How To Setup Your Blog

You will need a couple of things to start the blog. You will also need to have a vision in mind of what you will build and I mean the structure, the theme colours, logo and then the tone of the content and images.

My barebones goals with the ClickBucks blog is:

  • #1 Goal is to help people grow businesses online
  • Get people to subscribe to my email list
  • Build something thats fun to work on and a creative outlet
  • Create content that evokes thought and tackles peoples problems
  • Avoid the slimey lambo mansion marketer type look and feel at all costs

I think Ive done this with the time I allocate to this project and everyone reading this right now is like “yea dude we love this blog”. Thanks guys you rock.

To start your blog you will need the following Items:

[dsm_icon_list _builder_version=”4.7.6″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″][dsm_icon_list_child text=”Create a domain name” _builder_version=”4.7.6″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″][/dsm_icon_list_child][dsm_icon_list_child text=”Buy your domain name” _builder_version=”4.7.6″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ font_icon=”%%165%%” sticky_enabled=”0″][/dsm_icon_list_child][dsm_icon_list_child text=”Web hosting for a blog ” _builder_version=”4.7.6″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ url=”” url_new_window=”on” sticky_enabled=”0″ font_icon=”%%97%%”][/dsm_icon_list_child][dsm_icon_list_child text=”A theme for your blog” _builder_version=”4.7.6″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ font_icon=”%%71%%” sticky_enabled=”0″][/dsm_icon_list_child][dsm_icon_list_child text=”An email for your marketing” _builder_version=”4.7.6″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ font_icon=”%%109%%” sticky_enabled=”0″ url=”” url_new_window=”on”][/dsm_icon_list_child][dsm_icon_list_child text=”Email autoresponder software” _builder_version=”4.7.6″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ font_icon=”%%109%%” sticky_enabled=”0″ url=”” url_new_window=”on”][/dsm_icon_list_child][dsm_icon_list_child text=”Forms for your website lead capture” _builder_version=”4.7.6″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ font_icon=”%%72%%” sticky_enabled=”0″][/dsm_icon_list_child][dsm_icon_list_child text=”Images Video and other media for branding” _builder_version=”4.7.6″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ font_icon=”%%99%%” sticky_enabled=”0″][/dsm_icon_list_child][dsm_icon_list_child text=”Content lots of content” _builder_version=”4.7.6″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ font_icon=”%%75%%” sticky_enabled=”0″][/dsm_icon_list_child][dsm_icon_list_child _builder_version=”4.7.6″ _module_preset=”default” text=”Tool to optimise your website and content” url=”” url_new_window=”on” font_icon=”%%103%%” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″][/dsm_icon_list_child][/dsm_icon_list]

The short list is above and each point could create its own novel so I made a quick start guide to starting a blog here.

Now your blog needs at least 3 main atrractions that will be where you focus your efforts and send people to. These could be a newsletter, a feature article or learning pages that have offers and deals.

Other Types can include:

-Case Studies of a particular thing you did or are doing

-If writing about web design, focus on the exact codebase, design principles, or anything you used to get web design success, give it all away freely

-If writing about a niche focus on simply teaching what web design for clients is and laying out all the benefits

-Want to aim for about 3 posts laying out step processes to helping your target audience

-The 10 reasons why most businesses fail, cut their income in half, etc because they miss online marketing

-The essential of do it yourself web design guide

-Do it yourself guide to setting up your own web design client hosting platform

These feature points are where you will focus your efforts. You will need to have lead capture on these pages and some form of monetized widgets or cals to action. This is how we start getting you paid.

The home page needs to have something that stops people scrolling and makes them read it. Your elevator pitch on a page.

-The most important thing when you start out

-Create an essential thing they need to continue learning, have a pop up opt in, have opts in on top right corner of site and at the end of posts. Links inside posts

-After opt in, video (or text) explaining how they are getting it, what it is, and what to expect

-Get even more if they like your brand

-(Big secret to how to build websites in 3 days or something like that)

Join People Who Are On The Same Journey

My list has reached 10k readers and I have seen several readers go on to create very successful businesses online. It all starts somewhere and this could be your somewhere. My emails are short, sweet and to the point and I’d like you to join me on my journey online.

Best Sources For Free Traffic

We need traffic to at least test our blog conversion. This is a great way to know if we are onto something amazing that will change the world or we just built a steaming ple of monkey crap.

The test traffic can be very insightful. We can learn about the visitors and their actions.

You should have installed Google Analytics on your website to monitor user behaviour. There are plenty of guides on how to do that try google for a guide how to set it up.

Best Free Traffic Sources For Testing Blogs:

-Forums (Specifically for web designers)

-Niche forums

-Niche industry publications (super easy to do)

-Warrior forum buy/sell boards (more on this later)

-Niche fan pages (super sneaky) Large groups

The niche fan pages is a sneaky way to get traffic it works even better if you own the page(s). Think about that for a minute, should you invest time buildingniche relevant fan pages to attempt to control your traffic sources or is it easier to just pay the page owners for some publicity? thats a time vs reward questions for you to answer.

Once you have tested the traffic and understand that things need to change or things worked better than expected you can move to real traffic.

Did you get any engagement with the test traffic?

Yes – move on to next paragraph.

No – look at the design of the blog, look at the structure or look at the content something needs to change for better engagement. Read the blog here for tips on creating better messaging, optimising conversions and building sick websites.

“When you pass the free traffic test you get to play with some real targeted traffic and build the blog. As you build the audience numbers the really cool stuff starts happening. People will email you for advice or sponsorship or feature publications. This is when you can start to actually see the impact that your blog has on people. I really enjoy building businesses that impact people, it provides such a positive feeling”.

Getting Your Blog Feature/Guest Posting

-Huge way to build authority

-99% of the time done wrong

-General media the way to go at first

There are specific ways to do this that get solid results.

-Pay attention to what is hot in SEO and then just offer to right about it

-Pitch stories, not your blog, case studies, how you made money, etc etc

-Mail every few days (most of the time it is missed)

-Look at what someone wrote about and offer extra insight OR the offer for a follow up posts

Example outreach script for guest posts:

(If you can put in a subject : Did You Miss This, (First  Name), FWD: SEO Writer ETC

Hey _______

and could possibly give you some high quality information.

Here are some writing samples/work samples below

Looking to hear back from you!

Emails: What to send to your subscribers?

The first email is crucial to determine the relationship status of you and your list. If you oversell they unsubscribe, if you overdeliver you look desperate. There must be a middle ground.

Also this is quite important.

If your blog site is serious you must carry that across into your emails. You cant have a serious blog but then be sending gifs and emojis in your emails it doesnt relate to the audience. If you are in a fun niche yes send gifs memes and emojis.

The first email you send should connect the email with where the person gave their email info, for what and what is this email about, then once covered who are you or save that to the 2nd email.

A typical email after a subscribe will look like this.

-Here’s your stuff + just to let you know I will be sending you a bunch of free ways to improve your business

-Subject : (Name) Case Studies Shows How We Did This Wild Thing

-Link to blog – Using like lockers within posts

-The download is here

-Thank you subscriber email

Thats all I have for you here Ill come back and update this post with better details for you and some more scripts to fully build out the blog site, the PR pitches and the overall blog content planning.

Its been fun I really enjoy writing about building businesses so if you have a specific niche category or style of blog you wnat to see me write about email me at [email protected] and Ill write it up for you. Thanks for reading. Peace!

Blogging Guide: How To Make Money With a Blog

Blogging Guide: How To Make Money With a Blog

Blogging started as a simple hobby, but has transformed into a powerful way to capture search traffic and monetize an audience.

While many successful bloggers started years ago, it’s still possible to start a successful blog today. You just need to update your tactics.

I’m Shenzu and I launched this blog in late 2019 to prove that it’s possible. With startup growth tactics Ive got steady traffic and regular commissions coming in exceeding $2k month with around 1-2 hours work a week.

The Riches are in the Niches (So Choose Wisely)

Ultimately, launching a blog starts with planning. And that includes choosing your niche carefully, or your unique target audience to focus on.

So how do you choose a blogging niche that you can easily monetize?

You need to find a niche that is highly monetizable and has affiliate revenue potential.

One of the most common pieces of advice that pro bloggers provide is to write about your passions.

While this advice may work for a few whose passions lie in a profitable niche, it won’t work for most bloggers. They’ll start with a passion in mind, write content for years without a monetisation strategy, get burned out when the money isn’t rolling in, and quit.

That’s why you must choose your niche based on market factors, not passion

First, your blog needs affiliate revenue potential. This is a term I coined that basically means that the keywords that you target need to be monetizable with an affiliate program.

So how do you do this? First, use an SEO tool and find keywords that include the word “best” in them.

“Best” keywords are searches that people do when they’re looking for product reviews. For example, “best credit cards”, “best laptops of 2021”, and “best travel insurance” are all highly-monetizable searches.

Remember, to make money from a blog, you must treat it like the real business that it is.

And for that business to succeed, it must offer something that your target audience is willing to pay for.

To take it a step further, choose a niche that has audience revenue potential.

For example, while college students include a large subset of people, they may not be the most lucrative to target. But working professionals might be.

You need both revenue potential with high-value products AND an audience willing to put up the money. We monetize the blog with a variety of options like:

  • Affiliate offers

1. Leverage Your Professional Experience

Once you’ve identified some great niche opportunities, narrow it down to ones where you can use leverage.

Your professional leverage will help you tremendously when starting a blogging business.

This is what gives you a unique advantage over other bloggers in your niche.

How do you discover relevant experience to leverage?

Ask yourself:

  • What valuable experience do I have academically and professionally?
  • How can I leverage the connections I have in my industry?
  • How can I leverage this experience into a profitable blog?

The answers to these questions will help you zero in on a niche that will fasttrack your path to success. For example, when you’re first starting your blog, you need to build influence (and Domain Authority) with backlinks and guest posts. If you have no leverage, it’s hard to get noticed.

But if you already have leverage in an industry, it makes it much easier to build blogging relationships and get more guest posts published.

They’ll also help you blog about topics you’re already familiar with, thereby saving you time on content creation.

It can also help you avoid burnout, which is another common problem that bloggers face.

The number one ingredient to running a successful blog is influence. And leveraging your professional experience and connections is a great way to build it faster.

Before You Start Making Money with Your Blog…

One of the biggest mistakes aspiring bloggers make is to think that blogging is the lazy person’s path to financial freedom.

It is a path to financial independence, but it requires a lot of hard work – especially in the initial stages.

Here are a few things you must get right if you’re to make money from your blog…

2. Get the Right Web Hosting, Domain Name, and CMS

While this may seem obvious, many aspiring bloggers make a business sinking mistake here. They go for the cheapest web hosting.

Web hosting is an essential element of your blogging business as it determines the reliability of your blog.

It also impacts the speed of your website. Poor web hosting can result in your blog occasionally going offline and loading slowly. Both factors can cause you to lose valuable readers.

See my blogging recommendations on what setup platforms you need.

To get the right web hosting, focus on:

  • Speed
  • Uptime
  • Customer service
  • Budget

And if you’re going to rely on a lot of media like images and video, you should also consider storage space.

Aside from choosing great web hosting, you also need to get a domain name. This is your blog’s name, as well as it’s address (URL).

Most web hosting platforms offer a free domain for a year, but after that, this should cost you roughly $10/year.

If you can’t get a domain name with your main keyword (as is the case with most keywords these days), you can always consider using your name as the domain name. This is great for coaching businesses and allows you to pivot your content if a sub-niche doesn’t work perfectly.

Third, get a reliable content management system (CMS) to publish your blog on. WordPress comes highly recommended here as it’s very flexible and 100% free. With WordPress, see my recommendations on the tools and themes you can use for blogging.

3. Create a Content Strategy

Content is the lifeblood of your blog. Get it right, and you’ll be in the right direction to make money from your blog.

But how do you ensure that your content achieves its goals of attracting visitors and converting them into subscribers and customers?

It all starts with a rock-solid content strategy, which involves (among other things):

  • Conduct keyword research. The number 1 skill you need to suceed is keyword research mastery your target audience use in their Google search queries.
  • Understand searcher intent. Understand what your audience is really looking for when they perform a search query. It’s an indicator of their pain points and, thus the problems you can help them solve. Google is looking for answers that end a user’s search journey, meaning they visit your blog and then stop going to others.
  • Semantic keywords. Make sure to use a tool like UberSuggest or SurferSEO to make sure that your blog posts have the best possible keywords and different variations that Google is looking for.
  • Create a content calendar. Create a schedule of blog posts to be published (based on your keyword research and user intent). For this, you can use a project management tool like ClickUp
  • Update posts regularly. Keep updating and adding new content to your old posts to keep them fresh and relevant.

With a solid content strategy, you’re bound to create compelling content that your audience will love.

The goal should be to create content that helps foster meaningful relationships with your audience.

Treat Your Blog Like a Startup, and Scale It Like One

Since most of my readers work full-time, to make money with a blog you need to use your time in the most meaningful ways possible. I write a lot of content early mornings or late late at night hovered over my keyboard in a dark room haha it might not be glamouros but it gets the job done.

You need to treat your blog like a startup, rather than a passion project. I hustle my butt off to get things moving at the end of the day no one else will hustle like me. I want to be the hardest worker in the room, but also the smartest worker in teh room. Outsource the low value work and focus on the high value  work for yourself and your time.

The reason many blogs fail is not from a lack of creativity or passion, but because they struggle to transition from blogger to business owner.

And here are a few areas you have to focus on as you treat your blog as a startup and scale it:

building your affiliate website

4. Have a Blog Business Plan

Like any business, start with a business plan.

This is a blueprint that will guide your decision-making, tell you what to invest your time in, and steer you on the path to monetizing your blog.

Blog Business PlanIt doesn’t have to be overcomplicated — a simple Google Doc will do. Elements to include in your blog business plan can include:

  • Goal setting
  • Market research
  • Competitor analysis
  • Blog monetization strategy
  • Your unique value propositions, heading, and taglines
  • Tasks to complete

Set SMART goals and make sure to keep track of everything in one place.

5. Scale Your Blog by Boosting Your Blog’s Ranking

To scale your blog’s traffic, you need to both create high-quality content and get links pointing to that content. It’s really that simple.

To do this, you must work on your search engine optimization (SEO). So how can you boost your blog’s ranking through SEO?

Build Quality Backlinks

Backlinks are one of the most important ranking factors search engines consider. They are like the currency of the Internet.

Not only do they improve your Domain Authority (DA), but they also help drive traffic to your blog. You must invest time and resources to build quality backlinks to your blog.

And here’s the key many bloggers have missed — build relationships, not just backlinks.

In blogging, it’s impossible to scale your blog single-handedly. You must build relationships with other bloggers and webmasters if you’re to scale fast.

Once you understand this, you’ll base everything you do to scale your blog on the value you offer, not just what you can get from others.

This will increase the chances of you getting the valuable backlinks others struggle to get.

To scale, consider hiring a VA or outreach assistant to make more connections and build more backlinks.

Guest Posting

One of the most effective strategies I’ve used to grow my blog, both in traffic and Domain Authority, is guest posting on sites in my niche.

This simply means creating high-quality content that you publish on other blogs. Reach out to your network, prospect with some link tools and find people and blogs that alow guest posts, this will be a easy way to start getting sweet links.

The reasons this is very effective are it:

  • Drives relevant traffic to your blog
  • Is an easy way to get backlinks
  • Helps you build brand authority

In 2019, I conducted an experiment to try and prove the efficacy of guest posting. The results spoke for themselves.

After eight guest posts on websites with DAs from 60-94, here are the results I got in 15 days:

  • 32 new referring domains
  • 247 new backlinks
  • 268 new organic keywords ranked in the top 100
  • 372% increase in organic traffic
  • +12 to Ahrefs Domain Authority
  • Alexa Rank improved by 600,000

To succeed with your guest post pitches, make sure your content is relevant to your host’s audience, doesn’t exist yet on their site, and focused on a specific keyword.

To sum it up, a guest posting strategy is a surefire way to scale your blog’s traffic and quicken your path to monetization

Create SEO-Optimized Content

Of course, we can’t talk about SEO without talking about your on-page content.

After all, content is what attracts visitors, helps you build relationships with them, and converts them into your customers.

For your content to achieve all this, you must optimize it for SEO.

This is where your keyword research comes in. Each blog post should focus on one keyword and be included in:

  • Your headline (preferably as close to the beginning as possible)
  • The first few paragraphs of your blog post
  • In your subheadings (H2s and H3s)
  • Naturally within your content

Apart from this, your content must also be easy to read and have high readability scores. To do this, use short sentences and paragraphs and format it properly with subheadings and bullet points.

Implement Solid Technical SEO

Technical SEO refers to optimizing your website’s technical aspects that impact how search engines rank your website.

It mainly boils down to ensuring that your blog offers visitors a positive experience. This is critical as Google announced that  they rate page experience much higher now and it should be on every bloggers radar as an important signal for rankings and page visibility.

I like to think I can dive into the tools and get my hands dirty with the technical SEO work and really clean up my sites. The downside is I dont always have the time to be doing it hands on myself. Wearing my Operations hat I would say outsource the technical SEO work if you can afford it and have someone reliable to do it. Time vs reward.

Some technical aspects of your website to work on include:

  • Page load speed. Make sure your website loads fast by optimizing it for speed. This is technical and border line developer work.
  • URLs. Use descriptive URLs that contain your keyword. To do this, change your blog’s permalink settings.
  • Internal links. Building internal links helps search engines understand and navigate your website better, making it easier for them to crawl your site.

No matter how great your blog is it will not won’t rank well if your technical SEO is lacking. This will lead to you losing valuable traffic and, ultimately, revenue.

Nailing your SEO will result in your blog’s DA increasing, resulting in it being more visible to your target audience.

Remember, to make money with a blog, you must drive traffic to it. And that’s the main purpose of search engine optimization.

Build Relationships with Your Audience (and Monetize Your Blog)

With a regular business, email marketing plays a vital role in driving sales and increasing customer retention.

The same applies to your blog.

If you want to make money with a blog, you will want to put effort into growing your email list and using the best email marketing tools that simplify the communication between reader and you.

Your email list forms the core audience that you’ll market to. But to successfully sell to them, you have to build a trusting relationship with them first.

Let’s go back to basics and see how you can build a list of engaged subscribers.

6. Grow a Profitable Email List

To build a list of engaged subscribers, you need two main things:

  • A reliable email marketing tool.  Here are email tool suggestions that will help you create and manage your database of email subscribers. It will also help you strategically automate your email messages.
  • A good offer. To get your target audience’s contact details, offer them a valuable resource they’d be willing to something of value. This has to be a resource only people interested in your topic will sign up for. For example, a high-quality lead magnet.
  • A well-designed signup form. This is where your readers input their details to gain access to your offer.

Make sure to promote your offer on your blog and social media to encourage as many people as possible to sign up.

First, you can promote your blog posts to your subscribers, helping drive traffic to them.

Secondly, you can promote your products/services to your email list. You can also add affiliate links to your emails and recommend products.

In addition to email marketing, here are the most common ways to make money with your blog.

7. Pick Your Monetization Strategy

Here are the top seven ways to monetize your blog after you gain sufficient traffic.

Affiliate Marketing

This is a traffic dependent monetization strategy in which you promote services or products on your blog via affiliate links. If a visitor purchases through your link, you get paid a commission for that sale.

First, you need to join affiliate networks and then jam pack your offers with value and the messaging that works. Then you add them to your content and track reporting to see how many clicks and conversions you get.

Display Ads

Another way to make money from a blog is by joining an ad network and displaying ads. Granted, this isn’t as easy as it used to be.

The main problem with this blog monetization strategy is that you need a good amount of traffic to make real money from ads.

However, if you’ve already got a decent following and your blog receives a good number of visitors, you can consider signing up for Google Adsense or

other ad networks that pay well like MediaVine and AdThrive.

Sponsored Content

Sponsored content refers to content brands pay you to create and publish on your blog.

Of course, the content is usually about them or a topic related to their business.

Again, brands will only partner with you if:

  • Your blog receives a lot of traffic
  • Your audience is mostly made up of people in their target audience.

The advantage with sponsored content is that you can charge a flat fee – it doesn’t depend on the number of impressions or clicks, as is the case with ads.

Online Courses

Learning online with courses are one of the best high-ticket ways to make money with a blog.

The reason for that is that you don’t need a ton of traffic to monetize your blog this way.

You can start by creating a short course on a niche topic to gauge if demand for the course warrants you to invest time, effort, and resources into creating a full-fledged course.

By pricing a course at either $199, $499, or $999, you can generate significant revenue from a limited number of sales.

Create and Sell eBooks

Ebooks are another great way of generating revenue from your blog.

Thankfully, creating an eBook is as simple as compiling your best content and repurposing it into a book format.

The good part is that selling your eBooks (or photos if you run a photography blog) directly from your blog means you get to keep most of the revenue the eBooks generate.

Digital Products

Another great way to make money with a blog is to sell digital products. This could be anything from a handy spreadsheet to a simple tool. I have a few simple digital products on my blog that help users scale their backlinks and affiliate revenue.

Sell Physical Products

There’s no reason that bloggers can’t become ecommerce merchants too.

By using a simple WordPress plugin like WooCommerce or BigCommerce for WordPress, bloggers can add a fully-functional ecommerce store to their website.

Bonus: How to Plan Your Blog’s First 180 Days

Here’s my blog monetization formula, broken down into fours stages based on your blog’s age and traffic:

  • 1-90 days: High-end consulting (0-1,000 monthly site visitors)
  • 90-180 days: Affiliate marketing (1,000-2,500 monthly site visitors)
  • 180-365 days: Create and sell an online course (5,000+ monthly site visitors)
  • 365 days and beyond: Course memberships (10,000+ monthly site visitors)

One of the biggest mistakes most new bloggers make is to launch a blog and start adding affiliate links and ads right away. It simply doesn’t make sense to do that when you don’t have much traffic.

This is a numbers game.

When you’re first starting and have little traffic, if you can monetize with consulting and land one or two high-end clients, you’ll make money from your blog much faster than if you’re trying to earn commissions from affiliate sales.

How to Land Your First High-End Client… Fast

Remember, your blog is a business. To make money from it, you have to do what conventional businesses do — create a sales funnel.

For a brand new blog, all you need are your first five blog posts, a one-page opt-in “freebie,” an email platform and list, and a consulting page.

Once you have these in place, you can use them to strategically lead prospects down your funnel – in five simple steps.

  1. A visitor reads your high-quality blog content.
  2. They opt-in for your email list (thanks to your brilliant offer).
  3. Optional: You can add a lower-priced offer around $50-200 to build trust.
  4. Send an automated welcome email series that tells a story and leads your prospect to set a meeting with you.
  5. Lastly, your ideal B2B client sets an appointment with you, leading to them paying for your high-end consulting offer.

Of course, for this to work, your blog must offer a highly-sought-after service. The key is to master your high-end offer and sell yourself exceptionally well.

Does this mean you should do away with the other ways of making money from your blog?

Definitely not.

And as your traffic increases, you can then start implementing the other monetization strategies outlined above.

I love starting and growing blogs. I sadly do not have the time available as I used to focus solely on this part of my business. I do have people I work with and employ now that help me do the heavy lifting with my clients and JV partner sites. Time vs reward is a big takeaway and I want you to be comfortable outsourcing or hiring the small stuff out.

Keeping yourself free to gorw the business or the blog is your number 1 focus. This will take trial and error and finding that special assistant and support that allows you to step back, have faith in them and trust in their abilities. I found this part really tough, my standards were so high when they didnt need to be.

The key takeaway is to start today even if its a section of the guide. Just do that one thing today with the plan to come back on the weekend and do the second thing. Thats all I can ask and its a great way to at least move one step forward. I want you to be as excited by this as I am and to make money doing what you love.

Enjoy the guide make it work for you and take action. Peace!

High Ticket Dropshipping vs Low Ticket Dropshipping Products

High Ticket Dropshipping vs Low Ticket Dropshipping Products

Let’s talk about high ticket dropshipping versus low-ticket dropshipping products. Ill also go over my predictions, these are the top 10 best products for high ticket dropshipping in 2020

I am a big fan of high ticket dropship because the reward is so much sweeter for putting in the same if not less amount of work. Just saying 😉

Definition of high-ticket dropshipping

the definition of low-ticket dropshipping, the pros and cons of both high-ticket dropshipping and low-ticket dropshipping, some of the additional benefits that come along with high-ticket dropshipping.

So the definition of high-ticket dropshipping is selling products for over $250. Now, there’s really not a price ceiling here. I’ve have sold products for over $5,000, but in general we’re looking at anything above $250. So that means low-ticket dropshipping, you are selling products at a retail price, meaning what you charge your customers, for less than $249. Thats a nice starting point at $250 to keep your minimums at.

How does Dropshipping work?

the process of dropshipping

How to transition from low-ticket e-commerce

I’ll show you how to transition from low-ticket e-commerce to high-ticket e-commerce dropshipped products, and the best products for high-ticket dropshipping.

You will need a Shopify store or at least should be using the easiest CMS to build a store on. Shopify is a smooth way to host and grow your dropship store.

So let’s talk about why we do high-ticket dropshipping and the pros and cons of high-ticket dropshipping compared to low-ticket. And the best way I can just show this to you is, let’s say I was gifting you an actual store, like a retail storefront, and let’s just say I gave you an option.

The example

You can have a Dollar Tree, which is a store that sells everything for a dollar, “or you can have a Design Within Reach store,” which is a high-end furniture store where I would have to assume their average order value is over $3,000. So if you could choose one, which one do you want? Well, if you think through this at all, you would choose the one that has an average order value of thousands and thousands of dollars. Now, why is that? Because it makes more money.

When people come in and buy something, you get paid. It’s a much more profitable business than having a bunch of people come through your store every day, buy 20 items and give you $20, and the next one, and the next one, and the next one. No, you’d rather have a few customers come in, spend big money, where you actually can earn a real profit. So this is the idea.

Whats The Risk With High Ticket Dropshipping?

This is why we want to focus on high-ticket things. And you may be thinking, okay, but isn’t a negative thing with high-ticket dropshipping the fact that it is just a more expensive business to get into? I could see myself possibly selling low-ticket products because where’s the risk?

Whereas high-ticket products, it’s a different game. And that’s true, but this is the beauty of it. What I’m giving you right now in education is basically the option of telling you you could have either of these.

Both will cost money to start, heck look at my basic expense log for building this brand the ClickBucks brand.

If you’re going to do this, if you’re going to build a dropshipping store, and you’re going to put your time into actually making one of these, why not put your time into the one that has a bigger potential, that has a bigger upside, the one using high-ticket dropshipping? ‘Cause remember, the beauty of dropshipping is you’re not laying out any money before you actually get sales.

meme christmas tree looks

You’re not buying this inventory until the customer pays you. So again, you have this choice and I am giving you this decision, for which one you wanna build, and why wouldn’t you choose the one that has a higher profit potential? Now, when you think of it a different way, with the pros and cons of high-ticket dropshipping versus low-ticket dropshipping, we can just compare and contrast two different products.

My Top Ecommerce & Dropshipping Products List

On the left we have cellphone cases and on the right we have a stand up paddle board. Now let’s look at each of these in a little more detail and let’s just say you wanted to dropship low-ticket products, being the cellphone case. Well, with cellphone cases, they’re easy to ship, there’s a huge demand, and there’s lots of styles and variations. So that could be thought of as pros to dropshipping low-ticket products.

Whereas with high-ticket dropshipping and a product like a stand up paddle board, they’re large and heavy to ship, they’re expensive, and there’s a smaller market, meaning that there’s a lot less people that wanna buy a paddleboard than the amount of people that wanna buy a cellphone case.

And because of that, most people gravitate towards the low-ticket products when they’re getting into e-commerce and dropshipping, and they choose something like cellphone cases to dropship. And here’s the thing. That is not what you want to do because high-ticket dropshipping actually gives you the ability and the ease to sell less and earn more. And it comes down to a very simple equation that I call units sold versus profit. This is very important.

When I first realized this it totally changed my business. I was busting my hump to sell these $7 and $9 doller trinkets when I switched to selling $499 products boom! everything came together”

Dropshipping Comparisons: The Nuts & Bolts of it

We have cellphone cases and stand up paddle boards. Then we have sale price, and we’ll just use round numbers here to make math easy. And for cellphone cases, average retail sale price is $10. stand up paddle boards, closer to $1,000.

Now, if you do this right, if you build a dropshipping store using my methods here you can get decent profit margins of 25-40% on most orders.

Again, we’re gonna use round numbers for simplicity. So we’re gonna say net profit of 30%. That means profit per sale, every time you sell a cellphone case you would keep $3 as that profit, and every time you sell a stand up paddle board you would keep $300 as net profit for the same amount of work.

And understanding this concept and using it in your business, again, dollar store versus Design Within Reach, once you can leverage this and you can make your whole business about high-ticket dropshipping and high-ticket products, you will be well on your way to being successful with this whole business model.

Let’s just do an example here, and we’ll use these same two products. And let’s say you’re brand new to all this and you say, “You know what, mate? “My goal for my target monthly profit, “net profit, is just $3,000 a month. “I want an extra $3,000 a month in my bank account.” Okay, well, let’s look at our examples.

I havent even touched on building email marketing lists for your store. This just explodes the earning potential.

More Indepth with Drop Ship Numbers

If you want that with cellphone cases, you make the $3 a sale, and if you make 300 with stand up paddle boards, how many units, how many sales, would you need each month to reach your target monthly profit? Well, with cellphone cases, you would need to sell 1,000 every single month, whereas paddleboards, you would only need to sell 10 units.

That’s like one sale every three days. And if you’ve ever been in sales or customer service before, you know that 1,000 customers a month, it’s enough to make you pull your hair out. It’s enough to have a headache.

It’s enough to need a team to support. On the other hand, 10 sales a month, a sale every few days, you can easily handle that on your own, and again, you’ll be making the same amount of money as the person doing low-ticket dropshipping that’s pulling their hair out, thinking, why did I even get into this business? Go with high-ticket dropshipping.

You will make more money per sale.

Imagine all your competitors doing as much or MORE WORK than you and getting a quarter of teh profit margins that you get. INSANE but reality. If you stick to the maths and stick to the method it works. Plain and simple.

It’s pretty obvious that high-ticket dropshipping is better than low-ticket. And here’s just a few of the main reasons. The first is that there’s less customer service, and that’s because you’re having less customers, and less customers is a good thing.

You’ll have less orders but make more money. You also have less orders to process, so again, it takes less time to run the business, and one of the huge benefits is that it’s easier to buy paid traffic.

I’m a huge fan of paid traffic, and when you’re not making much money per sale, it’s almost impossible to do this profitably. Let’s look at this example where we have our cellphone case and our paddleboard again, and we’re looking at how many units we would need to sell.

So 1,000 cellphone cases or 10 stand up paddle boards. Again, this is to reach our target monthly profit. Now, our conversion rate with a hard focus on ROAS and our conversion rate of approx 2.5% (minimums) mean you would need 40,000 people to visit our website every month to get 1,000 sales. Whereas with stand up paddle boards, we would only need 400 targeted visitors.

And if you have to spend money on 40,000 visits, you know how expensive that is. You know it’s gonna be next to impossible to have a profit at the end of the day. But 400 targeted visits, anybody can get that to their website.

sales by numbers

It is not that hard if you have a system to follow.

I hear from a lot of readers about the store they own doesnt convert, it doesnt work, the layout is wrong and it just might be. Who knows what the correct most 100% foolproof layout looks like? not me no one does. This is a unicorn.

BUT! We can work towards optimising for success.

Some even more common problems:

  • My store’s not profitable
  • Facebook Ads profitable.
  • Customers aren’t happy
  • Shipping’s taking too long.

What can I do? Well, the good news is, if you already have a Shopify store set up, you can transition from low-ticket to high-ticket.

My advice is, if there is a higher-priced product range with what you sell, move up the ladder and aim for higher margins and higher sales numbers. Focus on the more expensive products and phase out the low-ticket ones.

Now, maybe you can’t do this. Maybe what you’re selling does not have a high-ticket price range product line. And if that’s the case, then my advice is just go ahead and build a brand new Shopify store using your knowledge for how you built the first one, but focused on a high-ticket niche, and focus on going with where the real money is and where the real opportunity is.

Now, if you wanna know more about the best products for high-ticket dropshipping, the products that fit my niche criteria for high-ticket dropshipping, follow this article further down and get more insights on profitable niches. The riches are in the niches.

Best Drop Shipping Products

I tried hundreds of products, bizarre products, very obsscure products and mainstream products to bring this niche guide to you. I failed on 7/10 of the trials but by no fault of my own than saturation and lowest prices being my biggest competitors. It turns out obscure niches and bizarre products have competition as well.

I didnt pick my battles. I was doing this in my limited spare time. I also couldnt give the ad campaigns enough love for them to out perform competitors. A damn shame because it was really fun working on some of the creative for these weird niches.

The products and niches Ill run through now are not the absolute must use niches or products but stable and opportunity is there in all outlined below. The key is finding the best trageting, the best messaging and then standing out against a lot of competition.

I also love the opportunity of the upsells and cross promotion. You can flog the base models and then make that paper by upselling accessories and add on attachments.

What I mean by base models is that a big complicated product is gonna have quite a lot of different complications so having that it’s a simple base model in other words the customer can order just one easy to understand product without having to  know how to choose a bunch of different upgrade options in order to buy it in the first place that makes the buying process a lot easier.

Simplify everything in your sale sprocess.

okay so you want simple base models and you want upgrade options as well so you want to have like three to five upgrade options and you can find all this through competitor research okay just look at your competitors sites especially the older sites and making sure that they have simple base models with great potential in other words there’s not upgrades that are required to be chosen in order to purchase

okay next recognizable brand names a lot of people like to sell generic brand names but the problem is that there are a little bit generic sometimes the keywords can mix in with generic keywords and as long as the brand name is a unique word it’s not a generic word then that’s good that’s enough to use.

For the SEO nerds you may want to get that naming convention dialled right in for maximum SEO juice and visibility for your product.

We want those unique words so that we can target those with SEO target them with paid advertisement next we want to make sure that the niche has model names and SKU numbers for the products.

Doing this is key for targeting with SEO and for paid advertising because you will be targeting the bottom of the funnel traffic but those the SKU numbers in various methods in order to get those buyers to your website to make that work.

Generics and Extended Product Opportunities

The best high ticket product sales will invlve both simplicity and complexity in the product function and customisation, weirdly they are different but work together for this example so well.

You should be looking at this next step with two lenses.

1 how simple is this product

2 what extensions, add ons and accessories can I bundle

You want a simple product because getting started simplicity is everything. Keep it super simple the KISS method. Make some sales understand the sales cycle, your buyers, the support requests and returns etc so you are all over your simple products.

Then when you have some experience with the product, the supllier, the customer and all the parts involved in the sales cycle you can start pivoting.

The pivot is crucial in your stores revenue growth.

When you pivot you start looking at that simple product with fresh eyes. You will start thinking and looking out for these following questions.

  1. What can I customise [with| on| for] this product?
  2. What can I add to extend the use of this product?
  3. What can I bundle this product with for more sales?
  4. What accessories does this product best work with?

All really good questions and are contributors to making you more revenue per sale. These can help play a role converting those more seasones buyers and those who may be on the fence and want a little more value or usability.

Common problems with extended functions, addons and more are the supplier policies, supplier warranty, supplier chargeback and the sales cycle.

With extended products with attachements, extensions, add ons and what not they are more difficult to learn to sell and to serve to customers. Understand that complicated is not necessarily bad, complicated products can be good electronic products can be very good.

To master the sales cycle you have to learn about them you have to read buying guides, and have to read manuals. You have to you know & understand the suppliers websites and how the products work together and they’re gonna be more difficult to learn how they work and to be able to sell and obviously to be able to serve with customer service support and warranty support.

What You Can Do To Keep Customers Happy and Buying More?

Start by identifying who your real target market is and really focus on the target markets you want to serve. Some are going to be willing and able not just able but willing and not just really but able right with you.

You can target and convert both but they got to be able to pay with either a credit card or a debit card for your product so you get paid right away that way and there’s no confusions the target market that is in the baby boomer generation is the best.

You don’t want to sell young people because they’re very fickle they don’t have a lot of money usually and they’re very impatient. This leads to negative reviews and chargebacks.

My Mantra is sell products that have high margins.

One key element to keep watch on when finding suppliers is if they use MAP policies. You really only want to work with suppliers and niches that have Map pricing okay ideally higher priced products will have lots of suppliers at Map pricing.

MAP stands for minimum advertisement price and that’s what you’ll see in the ads and on the product pages okay Map pricing evens the playing field especially against bigger older retailers so you’re gonna have a hard time competing with.

Having a database of suppliers and potential suppliers is what will fuel your stores growth. If you can offer more brands, more products you have MORE CHANCE of getting sales.

If the niche you are targeting has limited suppliers then you should plan for that and the possibility that thats the limit of suppliuers you can engage with. I would also consider if it is a small number what happens with COVID round 2 and so on will you still be able to operate? great question. Plan ahead.

Using ecommerce to grow your business

The Best Industries To Dropship

Older industries and technologies are much better than younger ones okay younger industries newer technologies can be very difficult to serve they might be easy to sell because it’s super exciting and trendy but the serving on the back end of it can be quite difficult I have a lot of issues with the product quality and the suppliers aren’t as established so they aren’t ready to really provide that service and they’re gonna fall on you more and of course you don’t have the backing of high amount of investment upfront capital to cover products that are defective you know so just keep that in mind it’s always better than the older industry’s older technologies things like that where the spires are more established if better warranty processes and they’re ready to serve their retailer base

Best Places To Advertise Dropship Products

lastly products that are able to be advertised on Google Shopping to Facebook kind of goes without saying right but one of our biggest most profitable ad revenue platforms is Google Shopping and Facebook ads as well so you just want to read through the Google Shopping terms and make sure that an issue you’re considering is actually able to be sold through Google Shopping.

one of the newest revolutions that came out was that electric bikes are actually quite difficult to sell through Google Shopping know you have to be very careful with them because they don’t allow them to be sold um you know if they’re over a certain speed with pedal assist so with that said you have to maybe provide some sort of disclaimer on your product page no nevertheless it could be the same in multiple industries so just make sure you understand the policies if you want to find those just type Google shopping policies and at Google and you’ll find that pretty easily and same for Facebook okay but just do a quick search and you make sure

The Hottest Product Predictions For High Ticket Dropship

I’ll now go over the top ten niches just searching them in Google so you kind of get an idea what they look like and the different websites that are selling them so here we are the number one niche that is pretty popular right now meets all those criterias and what not.

Golf Simulators

golf simulator so the opposite in others are quite interesting because look there’s a lot of high priced products here and definitely high margins so let’s take a look at few of the competitors here yeah this is a niche store shop fly right there can I trust him cut it stuff here all right and then we have four sites sports it’s like a niche store custom theme Four Seasons golf shop the furniture store and shop demise things even Shopify and then there’s top-shelf golf which is definitely a store lots of good things here and great niche to look into

Apollo steam shower curved blue

Steam Showers

I really like this one not just because I have one but because of the end result that you can use to leverage the sales messaging. These showers are amazing.

steam showers are pretty cool similar to saunas but of course quite a bit different so with your shopping alright I’m deep oh I love peanuts not sure exactly that that is Samus calm I’m an old e-commerce store so let’s look more at the sellers here maybe sticks out I think bath fault I know these guys and let’s see here I’ll just show you their store really quick they’re not just one product they’re multiple products let’s take a look at other stuff here bath parlor let’s see what that is you might find niches like this that are not in niche specific stores but are in multiple categories stores only so you have to get an idea like okay I might have to do that myself then let’s see our Samus and beyond sounds like a niche store I’ll just take a look at these for you right now alright so yeah bath fault this is bath fault and quite a successful store that’s a great history so you can take a look at this bath parlor definitely on the shop demise theme and yeah these guys are so I have a pretty cool website going on here let’s take a look at some be on another Shopify store definitely so these are some great store selling these

Electric Fireplaces

fireplaces are pretty cool they fit all the the criteria so let’s take a look at a few niche stores here like two fireplaces depot fireplaces are s might be but it’s not electric so I’m gonna skip it now you fireplace door maybe but the fireplace is direct it’s really looking for like newer ecommerce stores not the older ones that’s alright I know the people that make modern toys that’s pretty good website I like that a lot well there’s something directly uncivil that’s funny so these guys are doing something smart here they’re not putting people in their store that actually set up with sign directly through Google that’s like the marketplace which is kind of cool but you can take a look at their store anyways and let’s see you let your fire misdirect I think there’s an older ecommerce store so I definitely want to just take it you know get an idea that like these guys might be owned by some other their kalam Rhett but I’m pretty sure these guys are a smaller ecommerce store all right and yeah this is on shop to my so I’m gonna definitely consider this one a good one to go so electric fireplaces Depot

Infared Sauna

Infrared saunas are quite popular, expensive and profitable. This is a great niche to get into where you can sell a couple and make great money.

You will have a lot of competition, but generally its competition thats static and not dialled in. You will learn how to really dial in your ad targeting and messaging to beat these static vendors every time.

These are big products that serve people with specific pain points or desires. You would craft messaging around these pain points, desires and the solution. It will be a big purchase and will take some convincing so be prepared to have a really informative sales page to help get your message across.

Electric Full Body Massage Chairs

Auto electric massage chairs are awesome, I have one of these and it really does get you relaxed or treated if you have some aching muscles. I love it and Im using mine about 5 nights a week.

These are big expensive and easy to buy at various price points. They also have various marketing angles you could sell them with messaging for a lot of different customer avatars.

These will have niche sites pop up and look like they are highly competitive but really the ones you will come across wont be amazing, optimised or doing solid audience targeting.

These will need to have some more touch points than just advert to landing page and a conversion. This needs warming up, social proof, info articles and maybe even guides before you get the sale.

Restore+ Massage Chair

Massage Tables & Accessories

This is a slow creeper trending niche. COVID gave it an extra push and now its really taking off.

Massage table is very similar to massage chairs but a little bit different target market here. These are popular for several markets and avatars if you can find messaging that connects with the audience these sell themselves. They also allow you to have a bunch of accessories and bundles.

These are easy to transport, can be stored easy and have multiple moving parts. Unless you buy the sturdy table types.

I really like this as a evergreen niche because everyone needs relaxation, pampering and no better place to be pampered than in your house.

Wine Coolers

wine coolers are definitely profitable they’re a bit more competitive but it doesn’t mean you can’t compete so it’s stupid some of the websites right here that seem like niche stores one quarter city differently a new store and Shopify with the bats and sounds like yeah but but why enthusiasts I believe is actually a manufacturer or distributor or something direct so thanks for that fact this is actually one of my clients stores they’re good for clinic back in the day they sold it and something else no you can adapt adjust it all right

humidor is are pretty unique product and may or may not know that they make it good I take a drop shipping eesh what they do if you’re looking this one first passing the doors wanna see too many other humidor specific stores but it’s a grind florist.

There are heaps of accessories and bundles that can be added to this product and the real enthusiasts will be all in on having the best setup for their buddies.

Games Room Sports Tables

One niche thats never been a focus of mine is games room tables. I spent a lot of time in arcade gaming tables, arcade games but never the actual games room tables.

After some looking around it really does have its own opportunities. I think with COVID forcing millions of people to stay home and with TV entertianment drying up the games room is now a very popular place to keep entertained.

These are big heavy tables. They dont require a lot of touch points in teh sales cycle, this one is where someone knows what they want and you need to be there when they make the decision. Google Ads will be a great way to get in front and center for this product promotion.

Types of Tables:

  • Poker tables
  • Ice hockey rink tables
  • Ping Pong tables
  • Beer Pong tables
  • Foosball tables also soccer
  • Arcade gaming tables
  • Life size chess floor covers
  • Tiny model train or action figure tables

Theres hundreds of gaming table top combinations. These sell really well and they are trending so I would keep this niche in your mind. Its not over competitive but there are some huge sporting stores who will be in teh SERPs keep that in mind.

that’s the top 10 list of niches just gonna go over them again really quick first is kegerators and infrared saunas steam showers massage chairs electric fireplaces golf simulators massage tables wine coolers humidors cigar humidor game room tables alright guys I really hope you enjoyed the guide and now have some ideas for niche selection for your high ticket dropshipping store.

Ecommerce Targeting Guide Products and Ads

Ecommerce Targeting Guide Products and Ads

One of the best ways to get sales fast on your ecommerce or dropship store is to run paid ads to the product pages. I love that free traffic with SEO but I also want some quick wins with sending targeted paid advert traffic to my sales pages to get data faster. This guide will be focusing on the paid advertising and targeting of adverts for ecommerce stores. You will find a lot of value in this guide, Take notes and put an action plan in place to get those sales.

Product & Niche Research

I try to avoid trademarked or licensed products just because the legal headache is just not worth it. Selling in trademarked niches is asking for shut downs of your ad account, your profiles and sometimes even your website. So stay away for these type of products.

Marvel, Star Wars, Pokemon, Harry Potter. Lord of The Rings. Batman. Spiderman. The Hunger Games. Etc etc.

I prefer getting into evergreen niches that are long-term niches. If you want to sell Harry Potter products and make money quickly, then possibly facing legal trouble down the line as you grow your store, then be my guest.

But that is not my style. Building a sustainable long-term business is what i am all about. Churn and burn is such a waste of time.

So make your own decision which side of the fence you sit on, but if you get in trouble because you’re selling in trademarked niches, then I am not responsible for your actions.

Sell at your own risks.

Product research with AliExpress

If you’re already sure of a niche you’d like to get into and want to see if there are a lot of products available to sell, then head over to

This is the site I use to sell products from China at a really low cost.

So, let’s say for example that you’re into the dog niche. What you need to do is simply type in “dogs” in the search bar.

Then what you could do next is sort by price, orders, free shipping and 1 piece only.

Ideally, we want to look for products that are under $4, have free shipping, and have a lot of orders from a reputable seller with lots of good feedback.

If you find 10+ products that we could add to the store from AliExpress, then it looks like you have a winning niche. The only step then would be to make sure there’s an audience for it on Facebook (very likely since there’s people who are buying these products online).

Page research on Facebook

We will get into much more extensive research on Facebook in the “Audience Insights” video, but have a quick glance on Facebook and look for pages in your niche.

If you can find 10-20 big pages in your niche (100k+ fans), then looks like you’ve got a potential winning niche with a large passionate audience!

Adding Products + Theme

How To Add A Product and Collection To Your Store

Once you find products that fit the criteria we covered in the last PDF, head over to Google and look for a higher quality version of the product (bigger size, no watermarks, etc)

Then head over to Shopify and go to add the product: PRODUCTS -> PRODUCTS

Product display

Then simply fill out all the details for the product: Name, description, variants (if any), shipping, pricing ($0.01), suggested price ($19.95).

REMEMBER: If the product is below $3-4 on AliExpress, then we will enter 8.0kg for the shipping weight, which is equivalent to $9.95 shipping that we created in the previous shipping module.

To add a collection to your store, head to: PRODUCTS -> COLLECTION The video is pretty self-explanatory on how to add a product to the collection.

Collections in Shopify

How To Add A Theme on Shopify

To select/customize your new theme, head to: ONLINE STORE -> THEMES

Theme in shopify

Then you can head to the Theme Store to look for a better theme. Once you’ve picked a theme, you can simply customize the theme.

Each theme has its own elements that you can edit, so there’s not much teaching to be made here. It’s basically just a matter of taste and testing based on how you like the look of the theme.

Now you have the research complete and the products and collections setup we move forward. This next section is all about advertising targeting for your products. This is super important because when you get the targeting correct you make more money.

Traffic with Facebook Ads

How To Create The Perfect “Native” FB Ad for E-Commerce

When you first log in to Facebooka Ad Manager, make sure to setup campaigns with ad groups inside them and then the single ads. This will load all your previous ads, campaigns, pages that you had previously on this ad account. If it’s a brand new account, then you won’t have anything to load.

Perfect Ad Type: 800×800 (square image) Photo Ad with Website Conversions

  • Make sure you add the conversion pixel into your Shopify store (we show how in the video)

  • You will always use the SAME conversion pixel for all your ads for your store

Perfect Ad Image: Image of the product ONLY (no text, no price tag)

    Perfect Ad Copy:

Grab Your LIMITED EDITION “product name here” for ONLY $0.01! Not sold in stores. Order yours now! >>>

    Perfect Ad Audience:

USA, Canada, Australia and above 1 million audience

  • I usually like to target mostly women, but men do buy also

  • Make sure you find at least 50+ interests to target

  • The more interests and the bigger your audience, the better

  • Take your time and find as many interests as humanly possible, it’s worth it! (can take 1hr+)

    Perfect Ad Budget:

$10-15 test budget per day for the first 2 days, then if you see sales after 2 days, then now you know it’s a product that can sell. I’ve found that $5/day budget does not give me enough data to make decisions on whether to continue or stop with the product.

Now it’s just a matter of optimizing and scaling accordingly (we will cover that in the next PDF)

– use a low quality image
– use a watermarked image
– use a different image than the one you’re using in your store (no misleading images)
– photoshop any fancy images for your ad
– use a re-direct on your link
– use a link to your store homepage, MAKE SURE TO USE A LINK TO YOUR PRODUCT PAGE! – mention shipping on image or text
– mention the words free anywhere

The whole goal of a Native Ad is so that it looks like a normal post on the newsfeed and not an ad. People are self-taught not to click on ads, so we want our ad to look like a normal image on the Facebook newsfeed. Hope that makes sense.

1. Your conversion pixel will not work until it gets its first sale, it will remain red until then. 2. Use the link to your product page for the ad, not the homepage

3. To save time, save your audience that you created (1M+ audience) so that you can easily make more ads in the future without manually typing each interest every time.

4. To save time, you can also DUPLICATE the ad sets! That way, you won’t have to add the conversion pixel, add the audience. All you will have to do is change the “ad” (picture, text, etc) assuming that you are selling a different product for this new ad set.

When you make any changes inside of ads manager, make sure to “Upload Changes”

Audience Insights

Deeper FB Audience Research with Audience Insights

The video is self-explanatory, so I will make this PDF like a step-by-step cheat sheet.

Step 1: Go to

Step 2: Select your locations (USA, Canada, Australia)
Step 3: Select your gender (Women only or Men + Women)

Step 4: Select your age (18-65)

Step 5: Enter a very general niche keyword (ex: Dogs, Horses, Poker, Swimming, etc)

Step 6: Enter a few more keywords off the top off the top of your head that go a bit deeper into your niche research (ex: Border Collie, Bulldog, Petsmart, I Love Dogs, Chihuahua, etc)

Step 7: Once you have a solid 10-20 keywords off the top of your head, head over to the “Page Likes” tab. This is where you’re going to be able to find even deeper keywords that you otherwise wouldn’t have known about.

Step 8: Enter 50-100 more keywords to target in your ads. This will ensure that you get to 1 million audience for your ads, which will make this a much more long-term cash cow for you.

TIP: If you’re unsure if the page name is related to your niche, you can always click it, which will generate a new window showing you how the page looks. You’ll then know for sure if that audience is related to what you’re trying to sell with your ads.

Step 9: Click Save to save your audience. This way, you can easily use that audience in Power Editor, without having to manually enter those 50-100 keywords each time!

And that’s really it people! Super simple. Audience Insights is an amazing tool to help you scale and find a broader audience to target. I push to get as many people as possible until I really really can’t find any other keywords to target.

TIP: Google is your friend. Be creative. If you’re in the Dog Niche for example, keywords you could search for are: different dog breeds, dog magazines, dog brands, dog charities, etc.

facebook ads scaling and split testing

Scaling and Split Testing Your Ads

Basic Scaling (Very little risk)

So once you see that your product is selling and that you are still in profit, you can begin slowly increasing your budget by 10% every couple days.

Make sure to constantly keep track each day of your profit with each budget increase.

Once you find your sweet spot for daily budget, you can basically just let it keep running on auto-pilot while keeping the same ad set running (this is why we wanted a 1M+ audience to run ads to).

Intermediate Scaling/Split Testing (A bit more risky)

So after you do your basic scaling and see that it is still working even at higher daily budgets (ex: $25/day is still making you profit), then you can look into more “intermediate scaling”.

What I like to do is separate the original ad into different ad sets. Let’s say the original ad set was:

So what I could do to scale this is to scale just the countries and see which country is buying my stuff.

USA, Canada, Australia

Women, Men

Interested in: German Shepherds, Chihuahua, Border Collie, I love dogs, dogs are better than cats

Women, Men

Interested in: German Shepherds, Chihuahua, Border Collie, I love dogs, dogs are better than cats

Women, Men

Interested in: German Shepherds, Chihuahua, Border Collie, I love dogs, dogs are better than cats

Women, Men

Interested in: German Shepherds, Chihuahua, Border Collie, I love dogs, dogs are better than cats

By doing this, I will have a better idea of which country is more likely to buy.

Here are some of the intermediate ways I scale:

1. Countries (USA vs Canada vs Australia) Will tell me which country is buying

2. Gender (Men vs Women)
Tells me which gender more likely to buy

3. Age (Ages grouped by every 5-10 years)
Tells me which age group is into my product

4. Interest keyword (German Shepherds only for example)
Tells me which interest keyword is producing BUYERS

Each ad set that I split test will start at a low budget like $1/day. Do this for a few days, then have a look at the numbers.

If the cost per conversion is low (below $3-4 cost per conversion), then increase your budget for that ad set slightly from $1 to $2 for example.

If the cost per conversion is high (above $4) after a few days, or is not producing any sales, then turn off the ad.

If you want to become successful with FB ads and e-commerce, then it will take some micro-managing of each ad set to see which ad sets are working and which aren’t.

Meaning, you will have to look at the cost per conversions of each ad set every couple days to see what’s converting and what isn’t.

Ex: “Okay, so I see that Canada’s cost per conversion is only $1.66 while USA is $7.81. I need to increase the budget for Canada to see what will happen the next few days, and decrease USA’s budget.”

Once you find a winning product, a winning audience, then you’re set. But initially, it will take some monitoring. Don’t get discouraged.

TIP: Remember, for split testing, it is much much easier/faster to just duplicate your ad sets inside of Power Editor so you don’t have to constantly manually enter the pixels, the audiences, the ads, etc.

WARNING: When split testing and scaling, do not increase your budget too fast too quickly, because this will cause your ROI (return on investment) to go down and your cost per conversion to go up. Scale smart, scale slow.

“This is an easy product research guide that you can follow along to and upload products to your store. Once you get that done its all about targeted advertising and optimisation. The real gravy of ecommerce is that sweet spot with ads and sales.”
